Alright, this is gonna be my very first Destiny worked out review... So don't be too harsh on me
And no offense, but when I read about Prue, Patty, Penny and all the others who have the same name as my spin off characters I kinda still see their faces. No offense meant to Destiny though, it's just habit >.< lol
Ok, up to the review...
I like you started with a fact that happened before in Destiny, showing that the past events aren't forgotten, and I think that's important for a story so the reader/viewer won't get lost and with these keywords he/she will remember what happened.
Oh yeah, the teasing. It's always fun to write/read about it, isn't it? It shows a good sibling relationship and honestly, who hasn't teased his/her sibling at least once? It's a lot of fun
Too bad this good mood was cut off by Chris' little whitelighter side. Annoying yeah, useful... probably only for the charges in need. And those Elders... always show up when you less need them to. Actually, you never really look forward to meet one, right? So yeah, this is so damn annoying, and even more when they cut you off your speech and start off their own with the same stuff you were gonna say.
And we have the opening with this...
Christmas shopping! It can be fun but honestly those Christmas songs playing all the time in the malls get soo on my nerves I could understand why Prue was so quiet but it wasn't the reason. I honestly doubt she even noticed the songs to get on her nerves while thinking about Braden. Yeah, if I had such a hot childhood friend I'd think about him too to escape that annoying repeated music. But Prue was actually bothered about something else. Poor Prue, she thinks too much and worries even more.
And damn Patricia Mitchell! Asking the Elders? What's wrong with that Halliwell? But it was just a more rhetoric suggestion anyway and Prue and Mel's answer kinda said it all too. And then we turn to find out Braden was where the girls are and honestly I can understand the way Braden replied to Patty's question. Short and objective; what was he supposed to say anyway? And something people always ask and think is right to ask is how someone feels after loosing someone close to them. Sure the intension is good but not everyone reacts the same towards these questions. Everyone has his way deal with it.
Oh yeah... Braden's the cold one what? Looks like he's not the one to handle pain all too well then and the fact of having powers now surely blinds his blonde ass too now. Braden, you're getting into trouble... I can feel that.
And yet again another reference to a previous episode, Prue's death in the pilot. Which was a good fact to bring up by Braden. Looks like this guy can argue. I'm starting to like him!
Oh Braden made Prue and Mel argue some... I can see where this might lead to in the future but I'll shut up about it now.
And then we have Prue walking off and the commercial break comes...
Back with the second part and we get to know more about what's going on with Chris. And wow, I'm surprised... wasn't Chris supposed to be the more responsible? But no, we have the places switched now between Chris and Wyatt. I guess it's probably cause Wyatt is used to being a Whitelighter already and having more experienced with that headache Chris was dealing with now. So yeah, it surely isn't easy being Chris now.
We know how annoying those Elders are with riddles and background stories of theirs no one but them really care about. But I know from experience that sometimes we should pay a little more attention to them; even if we don't like it. Guess Chris doesn't agree with me here but oh well... we'll see who was right. [Still hope I am lol]
Samantha seems like a strong witch to me with both Geokinesis and Electrokinesis right from the start. She's gonna be important later I wonder.. But a strong Witch requires a strong Whitelighter and who would be better than Chris? Well, right now anyone else I guess, since Chris isn't in the best mood to help anyone but his siblings and cousin's probably.
We have Chris in the park after this trying to enjoy the day... studying? Ok, something's wrong with this guy and it surely isn't the fact that he's a whitelighter now. And then we have his headache kicking in and a fight. Something that confused me now was; why did Chris orb home without the innocent that seemed to be his charge? I guess we'll have the answer soon after Chris and Meghan have that small talk over in the attic.
Alright, so she was killed... now I get it with Chris' idea he exposed to Meghan. Still I thought it would have affected him more and only after that he'd realize he had uncle Coop's ring to change it. Also, maybe if you would have made more reference about what happened after his charge was hit by her own attack due to the demon's deflection powers I wouldn't have gone confused about what I said above. But maybe she's not dead and this is just one of those twists you find out if you keep reading. So let's keep on...
So Meghan gave in and got Coop's ring¡K my oh my, I can see some consequences coming out of this forbidden time travel? Oh, and another reference about a previous episode¡K good think. And another break as both Chris and Meghan vanish to the past...
We're back in the attic. Good place for magic, right? And I wonder what Mel and Patty are up to. It's funny how Mel is the one getting lectured by her younger sister when you'd think it was the other way around. And I like the fact the sisters live in Phoebe's old apartment. However I wonder where they sleep, since we just saw a kitchen, a living room and one bed room. But hey, let's just imagine two more bedrooms and a bathroom
I wondered why Braden showed up and where the hell is Prue? I think that this spell will somehow backfire... or anything else they are about to try. But hey, they are Halliwells and adventurous, right? It'd be boring if everything would work right for them anyway.
So let's continue to see what¡¦s gonna happen...
So there is Prue... well, almost. She's just a form as his spirit guide and I liked that idea. But also, this has a deeper meaning as everything else, right? I mean, his guide doesn't just looks as Prue just by chance.
And then we see baby Braden using his powers and, of course, Braden wondering how he lost his powers. And this makes me remember Grams and how she bent the girls' powers to keep them safe. Good connection to the mother show. I'm liking this episode better than the others. You have improved your writing!
I confess I was as confused as Braden about that second vision but it makes sense. He was given the chance to have an almost
normal childhood while the Halliwells weren't that lucky.
Up to the next vision... the mysterious true father of Braden! Ha, I know who he is but I won¡¦t tell
So let's just skip this and all I have to say about this is that I like the twist and Braden stabbed Prue himself. I wonder how he is going to handle that fact.
And we're back to Chris and Meghan as Chris introduces himself to Samantha and soon after that that demon shows up and Chris gets a second chance to save his first charge. Meghan follows him to wherever he orbed and we have to wait until the 3
rd commercial break is over.
And the last part is here and finally! Sam! This is basically the only think I am really complaining about... why on earth is he showing up this late??? Ok, make up for this in the next episode
jk
And there we have all of them untied in the attic once more and Prue going off on her cousins and this makes me wonder... where was Wyatt all this time?
Oh and here comes Chris with his new charge and of course, has no clue what's going on.
And was sure once Braden awakened of that quest he'd be confused and worried about Prue. Who wouldn't be if you've seen yourself stab someone you care for so much?
But hello... Samantha is still there too. And now they noticed her and Chris explains. Still I wonder how she didn't got
orbing sick if she didn't know she was a witch how did she orb before? But that's probably just me being picky about the details, so ignore that.
Of course, who takes the news:
Hey you're a witch and I am your whitelighter without thinking the other person known as your whitelighter is completely insane? So yeah, I understand Samantha running out.
And aww, poor Chris. But it's fun seeing the younger cousin Meghan kick his ass. It's so something I can relate to, kicking someone's ass when they're like Chris. Age doesn't really matter in these situations.
Yep, Melinda should really think before using magic this often and Prue was really firm to her. And of course Braden is confused about all this now and I ask myself; when is Sam gonna talk here?
And shortcut back to Chris... he finally explained everything to Samantha but maybe Meghan was right; if Samantha was meant to die then there was no way she could have been saved, time travel or not. And I can only imagine where Chris is going now and kick someone¡¦s ass.
We're heading into something that looks like an ending scene... yeah, Elders can be mean but Chris learnt his lesson and this is what I meant before. Sometimes we should listen to the Elders and read between the lines of what they say. So I was right but still hate the way Elders like to teach witches and whitelighters.
And Meghan seems like the only one to understand about this death thing and that not all innocents can be saved; even though it's hard to accept this fact.
Braden is back and tells Prue to stay away from him. Surprisingly he's not cold anymore towards her but still tells her to stay away from him. I guess it's to keep her safe from the out coming of his vision quest. I don't think he really wants to stab Prue.
Aww, and there goes Braden after confessing he couldn't handle her dead. I really hope he'd kiss her on the lips instead of the cheek but I guess I have to wait until that happens.
And so typical big brothers! They only think about kicking someone's ass who hurt their little sister instead of holding her when she needs that more.
And then a good cliff hanger with Prue walking out too and that evil grin... you're reading too much of my stories that give you such ideas for bad cliff hangers! Lol Well, writers love them, readers hate them.
Anyway, pretty good episode and as said, you've improved a lot.
Just one thing... I really don't mind Penny hasn't talked but Sam? I mean, c'mon Nic!
But this is it for this episode...
